Lumieres (Simon Bayliss) specializes in commercial photography covering travel, tourism and product photography for a diverse range of clients for use in publishing (print & online), advertising as well as printed wall-art.
Coming from a mixture of eastern and western European forebears who migrated to Australia in the late 19th century, his spirit has always been nurtured by historical photography, the paradigm of migration and the journeys taken. This fascination is probably the reason he became a photographer and traveler; as it is a way to better understand not only his heritage, but also that of fellow people he meets on his creative journey.
Simon is passionate about fine art photography and has been capturing evocative landscapes and cityscape images for over 10 years with the desire of sharing his 'creative eye' with others through exhibitions and online. Over that time he has established a reputation for producing unique imagery of Australia, New Zealand France and Sweden.
Destinations & Places
With a passion for travel and the ‘shared experience’ , Lumieres has built up not only an extensive image library but also great destination information an some amazing destinations not only in Australia, but also France, Sweden & New Zealand.
Think of travel, and many people immediately think of a destination and often miss what a destination is. After all, "there is no such thing as a destination, only a journey made of many destinations" (SB)
The element of ‘shared experiences’ creates the passion to capture a unique image and to be able to share a view on experiences while travelling; be it in the local area, in the outback or abroad. For Simon, that is the essence of his being.
Commercial Photographic Services
Since 2002, Lumieres has provided specialised photographic services to a broad range of clients covering travel, tourism, design, accommodation, fashion, as well as personal imagery cover portraits and events.
Black & White Photography
There is something special about black white photography that can evoke an emotion and tell a story that colour photography cannot. Without the distraction of colour, the image of black white photography is left to structure, tones and luminance to convey the message.
