Minnamurra Rainforest & Waterfall - Nestled in the hinterland behind Kiama and sitting just below the escarpment is Minnamurra rainforest and waterfall. Located in the Budderoo National Park near Jamberoo (and Jamberoo Action Park), the waterfall is accessed via the Minnamurra Rainforest, and this region of the park is a wonderful examples of subtropical and warm-temperate rainforests that once dominated this region of the Illawarra.

The spectacular walk (raised boardwalk) is a wonderful 4km journey takes the visitor from the valley bottom to halfway up the escarpment. The experience changes as one travels through the changing forest habitat to magnificent gorge view of the lower Falls Lookout then onto the serene upper falls lookout. The Minnamurra Rainforest, and associated rainforest walk, is a must for those visiting the Illawarra and it is easy to see why the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre is a Multi Award winning facility. The NSW Parks and Willife Service has extensive information on their Website for South Coast and Southern Highlands National Parks.
Kiama, a beautifully set seaside town located on the southcoast of NSW, is located about 130kms south of Sydney and sits beautifully between the escarpment of the Southern Highlands and the Pacific Ocean. The southcoast at Kiama is probably some of the most beautiful in all the country; and it comes as no surprise that it is one of the state's top holiday destinations.
The prominant feature of the southcoast is the magnificent escarpment of the Great Dividing Range with the rich and fertile dairy country siting below the Southern Highlands. These wonderful elements offer the visitor the best of coastal villages like Gerringong and Gerroa and wonderful towns like Jamberoo and Berry. Venture up the escarpment and the country idyll of Kangaroo Valley presents itself and it is a beautiful as the name suggests.
For more information on Gerrongong and the surrounding area, visit Kiama Tourism website or drop into the Visitor Information Centre near the spectacular Kiama blowhole and iconic Kiama Lighthouse.
