Mount Kosciusko Summit Walk Australian Alps

"There was movement at the station, for the word had passed around..". so penned Australian bush poet Banjo Paterson in the late 1880's. The Man From Snowy River is an iconic Australian figure beautifully captured in the poem and this sprit in indelibly etched in the soul of all Australians and as such, following the Snowy River to its source near Mt Kosciusko is a pilgrimage all Australians should make.

Australia's mighty Murray River starts high up in the Snowy Mountains as a spring near a place referred to as The Pilot. From this spring, it combines with snow melt of the Australian Alps (Mount Kosciusko) proceeds to flow westward all the way to Lake Alexandrina near Adelaide.

Drawing Room RocksThe Drawing Room Rocks, so named as the weathered sandstone formations resemble the tables and chairs or a Drawing Room, provides the visitor one of the most amazing coastal vistas with views from Seven Mile Beach all the way along the coast to Pigeon House Mountain at Ulladulla and around to Kangaroo valley. (A field of view of almost 180 degrees). During spring and Autumn, Kangaroo Valley fills with cloud, the morning sun will warm the cloud and create a wonderful cascade over the gap between Woodhill Mountain and Broughton Head and flow eastward towards Berry.
