Mount Kosciusko Summit Walk Australian Alps

The Man From Snowy River is an iconic Australian figure beautifully captured in the poem and this sprit in indelibly etched in the soul of all Australians and as such, following the Snowy River to its source near Mt Kosciusko is a pilgrimage all Australians should make.

Australia's mighty Murray River starts high up in the Snowy Mountains as a spring near a place referred to as The Pilot. From this spring, it combines with snow melt of the Australian Alps (Mount Kosciusko) proceeds to flow westward all the way to Lake Alexandrina near Adelaide.

During spring and Autumn, Kangaroo Valley fills with cloud, the morning sun will warm the cloud and create a wonderful cascade over the gap between Woodhill Mountain and Broughton Head and flow eastward towards Berry.
